For a long time I never included new, unbuilt construction permits in the listings, because more often than not they'd be sold, get returned or moved a hundred times before hitting the airwaves. I decided to include them in an effort to get as much radio-info as possible on the site. Who knows if any of them will ever get on the air, however.
One that was recently permitted to move is WJIK. Originally licensed to Monroeville in Monroe County (oddly enough), owners Penfold Communications have received authorization to move the station to Thomasville in Clarke County, about 35 miles NW as the crow flies. Licensed to nearby Fulton, the station if it were to ever go on the air, would serve most of northern Clarke County, which ain't a whole lot.
