Another translator creeps towards Birmingham — is that the ultimate destination?

It's W284AQ, and it's slowly creeping across Tuscaloosa County. Originally located at or near the 1150 AM towers northwest of Northport, the station got a permit to move just east of Lake Tuscaloosa; shortly thereafter it got a permit to broadcast from the Brookwood area with 250 watts. It's not got a permit to move a little further, this time to the Vance/West Blockton area.

As far as I can tell, it's broadcasting WALN out of Carrollton. The signal was pretty weak in Tuscaloosa and almost absent in Brookwood, so I doubt it's broadcasting from where the FCC thinks.

No idea how close it can get to Tuscaloosa, being 2nd adjacent to both WZZK and WENN-FM, but it'll be interesting to see where it finally winds up.
